Flags, flowers removed from veterans’ graves at East End, Evergreen cemeteries

Via @friendsofeastend:

“We are very sad to report that nearly ALL of the U.S. flags planted by volunteers on veterans’ graves were taken from East End sometime Friday night. Also missing are the floral arrangements that families have recently placed to honor their loved ones. It appears that Evergreen was hit as well. According to the Code of Virginia, this is a crime if it was done “willfully or maliciously” — and it seems impossible to believe it was not. […]

We are relieved that, on first inspection, nothing appears to have been damaged. But we will be on the lookout.”

UPDATE: It was a clean-up of sorts by Enrichmond Foundation.
