Armstrong Football kicks off on August 25

The 2017 Armstrong Football season opens at the end of August with an away game in Purcellville at the Woodgrove Wolverines, a program in their 7th year who have gone 22-3 over the last 2 years. New on the schedule this year is a home game with the Churchland Truckers out of Portsmouth, who went 1-9 and ended up ranked #231 in the state.

The Armstrong Wildcats football team is coming off a disastrous 0-10 2016 season where they ended top ranked 259th of the 307 high school programs in the state. The Wildcats suffered through 0-73, 0-72, and 0-55 losses last year, with the only close game a 6-8 opening-day loss to George Wythe.

Interesting, I see the John Marshall game is at one oclock. And they’re not playing Highland Springs this year either. I don’t understand why not, because those games are stadium sellouts!
