One of Church Hill’s own, Erin Cary, a junior at Richmond Community High School, has earned a spot in the University of Chicago’s Summer Immersion program for Collegiate Writing. The University of Chicago is ranked 3rd in the nation for undergraduate education and this opportunity will help Erin grow as a writer and potentially help her earn scholarships and grants for her college education.
Want to help? There are TWO great ways to step up!
Online – Make your donation count TWICE! Go to Erin’s Go Fund Me page →
Donations received between Thursday June 8th and Wednesday June 14th will be stretched even further thanks to two anonymous donors that have offered to match donations dollar for dollar up to $250 and after that $1 for every $10 donated for the remainder of the time period (up to an additional $100 from the donors). If fully met that would mean a total of $1,600!
In Person – bring your friends!
Please join your neighbors and the Cary family for a fun night at Honey Whyte’s to celebrate Erin’s achievement and raise funds for her program fees and board. Honey Whyte’s has generously offered to donate a percentage of all sales to Erin’s fund!

A life-long resident of Church Hill, Erin was born at St. Mary’s and baptized at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She attended Bellevue Elementary here on the Hill and is finishing her junior year at Richmond Community High School. She has big ambitions and with your help she can achieve her goals. Perhaps one day, she’ll write about Church Hill and we can all proudly say we knew her back in the day.
