From a reader:
We have been seeing instances of someone writing messages in a sharpie marker on one of the gates at the Church Hill Dog Park. We sanded the first off (as best we could) on 10/6 but saw this morning that additional messages were added to other parts of the gate. A picture of the first message can be found on the Dogs of Lower Chimbo facebook page here but I don’t have any pictures of the more recent ones.
Could you possibly post something on CHPN about this graffiti? Sanding it off and commenting on the Dogs of Lower Chimbo page doesn’t seem to have gotten the message across.

I’m not sure I would call this graffiti – unless I’m missing something, The message doesn’t seem entirely unreasonable ??? Though I suppose that you can’t technically use the gates to enter or exit if you keep them latched “at all times” ???
So are they going to make signs to that effect, then? Because people seem to have trouble with actually keeping the gates properly closed.

A sign and a gate-closing spring could fix all this.
Not exactly graffiti… It’s a DIY sign
Really, just make a sign. This is an easy “problem” to solve.

We’ll look into the sign. Though it doesn’t take a genius to know that when there are dogs in the pen, both doors should remain closed.
Fence should be painted black. No brainer.
Signage is needed as a reminder to the growing population of folks who don’t pay attention to anything, even following what would seem to be a logical no-brainier by closing a gate when entering/exiting the park.
lol @both parties involved
