Grubbs Super Market (1980)

From the Valentine, via Richmond Newspapers:

Black and white photograph of the exterior of Grubbs Super Market in the Fulton neighborhood of Richmond on Williamsburg Road; image shows the front of the small brick building; food ads are taped in every window; several cars are parked in the parking lot; Grubbs is one of only two buildings remaining in the once populated area, the rest were torn down during urban renewal.

Many years ago Mr. Grubbs gave me some good advice on getting older (I was in his store on my birthday when I was young.): “Just get up and move around.”

Was just talking to a neighbor about this the other day. They delivered, which was mighty convenient back in the day. The man in the photo is Clay Grubbs, too.
