Dr. Wyatt Tee Walker (former chief of staff to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and civil rights leader) is coming to the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club on Monday, February 23, for a special speaking engagement for youth and community members on finding their legacy and having a positive impact in their community.
During the event, Dr. Walker will reflect on his contribution to the book A Light Shines in Harlem: New York’s First Charter School and the Movement It Led. He will also interact with a panel of Richmond community leaders during a discussion aimed at youth of the Club and other community youth and residents on finding their legacy and having a positive impact in their community.
Admission to the event is FREE, please RSVP at the Boys & Girls Club site or text WTWALKER to 51555. The first 50 attendees will receive a free signed copy of A Light Shines in Harlem and Dr. Walker will be available to sign copies of this and his books. Doors open at 10:30 AM, the event will begin at 11:00 AM and conclude by noon. Admission is limited to 500.
