A new Little Free Library recently popped up on Marshall Street just west of the Blue Wheeler.
While the donation and sponsor of the Little Free Library are anonymous, Lt. Dan Minton generously donated a large quantity of books for the start up of this LFL, paving the way for the project to go forward.
The new book box joins at least 3 others in the neighborhood: the WPA LFL, the Captain Buzzy’s LFL, and the Children’s Box at 22nd and Leigh.

Thanks everybody; these are wonderful on many levels. Now, what do we/I have to do to get a trashcan at the bus stop? There is always trash & garbage strewn everywhere (both sides of street) no matter how often good-hearted neighbors clean up. Maybe the Blue Wheeler could step up considering how much of the trash starts in their store…

This is great. Agree with Frank – now we need a Big Free Trash Can there.

I think the city put one in the wrong spot (although we need it there too) but there’s one currently at the corner of 31st and E. Marshall at the bus stop and someone had asked for it to be across the street. Close!
Really like the new library!

I may have put a copy of Forrest Gump in there…

The Blue Wheeler is going to go out of business as soon as UrbanCore puts in their new store right across the street on that vacant lot. I’m almost positive they would buy a trash can,- and maintain it
@7 Jimmy T, what store is being planned for that vacant lot?

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here – 320 N 32nd Street (across E Marshall from the BW) is slated for a new ‘mixed use’ building. The building, according to Urban Core, will be 2nd floor apartments and 1st floor business. The proposed, but not yet secured, tenants that I heard from UC were a yoga studio and a restaurant. If you know something specific, Jimmy T, please share.
