From Kimberly (mama of Jack “the MIA cat”, at 2710 E. Broad):
To Cubby’s parents: this morning at around 5:30, a disoriented Cubby bounded into my house like it was his own. I immediately recognized him (he was also dutifully wearing his collar) so he hung out with me and had a snack while I got ready for work. I popped him into the carrier and brought him back to your house. As it was about 6, and your house was completely dark, I didn’t dare ring the doorbell (and wake the children!) … I dispatched him onto the porch and he seemed to be re-oriented. So, let me know if he didn’t find his way back inside.
Your cat made my morning- what sweetheart!
Thanks for sharing him!

Our cat has a more exciting life than anyone else at our house. 🙂 So grateful for the wonderful neighbors befriending him!
I live at 25th and Clay, and had a few friends over recently for a cookout when Cubby stopped by. He was incredibly friendly and gentle, especially around my friends’ toddlers. Looking forward to our next run-in, and glad to see he’s making so many friends!
Such a Church Hill socialite

Tom, I’m sure it was Cubby – he loves Patrick Henry’s. We’re on collar #7. I’m sure he’ll ditch this one any minute like the rest. 🙂
Kimberly, thank you for taking care of our cat this morning! That was really sweet of you! I saw his brother this am on my way to work so I’m sure Cubby was close by!
We love when cubby visits our front porch!
I saw Cubby chasing a moth into the middle of the road. A collar isn’t going to save him from a car. I hope he stays safe.
It is more likely that Cubby would die of boredom from being kept indoors than this agile little guy would get hurt from drivers that are used to seeing strays and possums and jaywalkers in the road.

Cubby looks like the orange cat who happened to be in my back yard this morning when letting my dog out. Gave my boy an unexpected workout but narrowly escaped.
@ Kristen- no problem. Glad he made it home. I know about escape artist cats who refuse collars, chase moths in the road and get bored inside. Jack was (IS! IS!!) the same way.
@ Alli – Thanks, but right now I’m hanging on to the hope that Jack will come home (maybe when it gets colder he’ll want his blanket and cabinet-top perch?) so I’m holding off on taking another cat for now. I’ll let you know, though 🙂 hopefully it won’t come to that- I miss my little buddy *so* much!!

Cubby is outta control! I have to do that thing where you only open the front door a crack and snake your body in through the tight opening so the dog does get in- only I have to do it when I enter the house to keep Cubs out! I’m constantly chasing after that cat as he darts into my house and tries to make himself at home. Such a cute little freak!
One of his new favorite past times is to lay in front of my bedroom window (which is ground level) and loll around on the ground, laughing at my cats who are quite envious of Cubby’s ability to travel the great, wide lands of Church Hill!
