25th Street could get a new coffee shop

Style Weekly has word that a new coffee shop may be coming to one of the spectacularly vacant building on the 1100 block of 25th Street.

The article by Tom Nash says that Michael Wynn hopes to open Miracles by August, and will run as a pop-up coffee shop during the June 13-14 Better Block Richmond weekend.

The building has an unassuming storefront presence, but an amazing roofless brick-walled back expanse that could be a really great patio space.

Would love to see this happen. Mr Wynn has been an incredibly generous and hospitable partner in the Better Block process, and he is eager to help see our neighborhood flourish for everyone.

This quote is a little weird:

“Both Alamin and Wynn say they aren’t concerned gentrification will push out longtime residents. They say the homeless, especially, need to go somewhere else.

“And that’s for the administration to figure out,” Alamin says.”

@ J, perhaps it was a quote taken out of context. I suspect there was more to the conversation than what appears above.
