Shockoe, Boulevard development presentation now available

The folks down at city hall have made available a copy of the presentation by Highwoods Properties (3.7MB PDF) from Tuesday’s CHA meeting about the proposed development for Shockoe and the Boulevard.

Looks suspiciously like the project proposed about 3 years ago when we actually had a baseball team.

Slide 54 shows only one lane of travel going East on Broad and one lane going West on Broad. It is currently cumbersome to travel that portion of East Broad street and we have two lanes of travel in each direction. Factoring in the increased traffic this project will generate and anticipated future growth, it seems two lanes is mandatory. Also where are the electric cable cars?
