East End Library celebrates Youth Art Month
The East End Library at 25th and R Street will be celebrating Youth Art Month on Thursday, March 3 at 4PM. The Fairfield Elementary Wind Ensemble (about 25 kids) will be performing, and there will be refreshments. Books on Wheels returns to East End Library
Books on Wheels will be making a return visit to the area and providing free books & free bicycle repair at the East End Library on 25th Street on Friday, July 9th, from 3-6PM.
Library will be closed on Wednesday
The East End Library will be closed on Wednesday, April 21, to prepare for substantial renovations. This one-day closure will allow for an inventory of library books and materials to be conducted. The East End Library renovation is scheduled to start in July 2011.
Bellevue Flute and String Ensembles at East End Library
During March, the East End Library will exhibit original artwork by students from neighborhood schools. There will be a reception today from 4-6PM, at which the Bellevue Elementary School Flute Ensemble & String Ensemble will perform. Please note that there will be cake at the reception.
Negro League pitcher Hudson at the East End Library
Meet Edward Hudson, former pitcher and catcher for the Negro Leagues’ Detroit Stars and the Kansas City Monarchs, this Friday at the East End Library. Mr. Hudson will discuss his career, the Negro League, and it’s place in history.

Book signing and reading at the East End Library
This Saturday the East End Library will host author Danita Rountree Green in a reading and community discussion of her newly released novel Love Locked Down, a novel about women in relationships with incarcerated men.
