Church Hill Dog Park softly opens
The Church Hill Dog Park is officially open! The park opened quietly today, and the organizers plan on having a “doggie day” in late July or early August to really announce that the park is open.
We’d like help supplying water until the city can get the spigots working (and during the winter months, too, as the city will turn the water off). There are 3 critter coolers down there, 2 in the large dog park, 1 in the small area, and they can hold 6.5 gallons at a time. You have to directly poor water into the bowls on the side.

have you lost a male beagle mix?
I found a Beagle mix male dog at the bottom of Chimbo Hill, and my friends said they had seen the dog 2 weeks prior running as fast as possible down 26th st. out of the hill towards broad with a leash on. He had no tags. I would just like to find the owner of the dog. Anything you could do would be great.

Church Hill Dog Park update
Everything is a go with Parks and Rec for the Church Hill Dog Park, they are officially a partner. The CHDP committee is working on ways to get money for the necessary fencing. The city has been fixing up the lower part of Chimborazo these last few months getting everything ready - digging out the cobblestone, cutting down some dead trees, restringing the lights, reshingling the shade structures and making sure the water source works. The CHDP committee will hold elections in January to make official their organizational structure. Contact chimbodogs@hotmail.com if you have any questions or would like to be involved.

Church Hill Dog Park
It’s official: the nascent doggy park for Chimborazo will be called the Church Hill Dog Park. There were a lot of creative suggestions but none of them struck the committee as “The Name.” Now that this has been set, the CHDP committee is seeking help with fundraising, especially targeting the next 2 months. Interested in hosting or organizing a fundraiser? Contact the CHDP committee at chimbodogs@hotmail.com.

a name for a doggy park?
The folks behind the push for a dog park in Chimborazo met last night, with one of the topics being what this dark park could be called (other than the pedestrian “Chimborazo Dog Park”). The 3 suggestions are: (1) Chimbo Dog Park, (2) Church Hill Dog Park, and (3) CHill Dog Park. State your preference in the comments or suggest something else if you’ve got a good one…
