the Church Hill Dog Park is not quite ready
A message from the nice people of the Church Hill Dog Park:
Hey folks! The Church Hill Dog Park is so very almost ready to use, but is not quite there yet. We’re close enough, actually, that some dogs have already taken their people to the park to hang out. In a way this is great because it gives us all a sense of how cool this will be when the park is open for use. Unfortunately, having dogs (and their people) using the park before it is ready opens us up to liability issues. Because of this, we need to ask everyone to wait just a little longer before making the CHPD part of your day.

2nd CHDP work party set for Saturday
The folks working on getting the Church Hill Dog Park up&running have announced a 2nd work party for Saturday, June 14th from 9AM-1PM. Sign up via email to chimbodogs@hotmail.com.
The gates need to be covered and corners hammered in so please, bring those hammers and cool tools used last time so we can hopefully finish this in order to use it!

sponsor a piece of the Church Hill Dog Park
The folks at the Church Hill Dog Park are offering sponsorship opportunities for each of the 100+ posts and/or 8 gates that will eventually be the dog park. They are asking for $100 per post and $500 per gate. While anyone can sponsor a post, they’re looking to have only local organizations/businesses sponsor the gate. Drop’em a line if you’re interested.

Church Hill Dog Park update
Everything is a go with Parks and Rec for the Church Hill Dog Park, they are officially a partner. The CHDP committee is working on ways to get money for the necessary fencing. The city has been fixing up the lower part of Chimborazo these last few months getting everything ready - digging out the cobblestone, cutting down some dead trees, restringing the lights, reshingling the shade structures and making sure the water source works. The CHDP committee will hold elections in January to make official their organizational structure. Contact chimbodogs@hotmail.com if you have any questions or would like to be involved.

Church Hill Dog Park
It’s official: the nascent doggy park for Chimborazo will be called the Church Hill Dog Park. There were a lot of creative suggestions but none of them struck the committee as “The Name.” Now that this has been set, the CHDP committee is seeking help with fundraising, especially targeting the next 2 months. The folks behind the push for a dog park in Chimborazo met last night, with one of the topics being what this dark park could be called (other than the pedestrian “Chimborazo Dog Park”). The 3 suggestions are: (1) Chimbo Dog Park, (2) Church Hill Dog Park, and (3) CHill Dog Park. State your preference in the comments or suggest something else if you’ve got a good one…
