Richmond Real Time Traffic Info is reporting a hit and run at 23rd and Cedar Streets about a half hour ago where the “STRIKING VEH ….CAME DOWN STREET AND STRUCK ABOUT 12 VEHS”.

demolition imminent on Cedar Street
Credible rumors have it that this double at 2104-2106 Cedar Street will be demolished by the city very soon, possibly as soon as next week. The very tall house at the other end of the block may also be on the short list.

Chandler to succeed Robertson at Cedar Street
This week’s Richmond Free Press has a half-page article about Anthony M. Chandler, the Baltimore native who will be the new pastor at the 1,500 member Cedar Street Baptist Church, and some of the recent issues at the church. Chandler succeeds Dr.Benjamin Robertson Sr,. who has served Cedar Street for 52 years.

organized action in Union Hill
Lora Toothman reports that at the last Union Hill Civic Association meeting, the group decided to target specific areas of the neighborhood for attention from the city, and to coordinate requests for maintenance for those areas so that many people request the same action items at once. The hope is that the city notes the influx of requests for the area and fixes those problems. The first area chosen is immediately around the triangle at the intersection of 23rd, Jessamine and Cedar Streets.
