Assessed last year at $47,000, the house at 1104 North 20th Street has been vacant for years. As recently as 2 years ago, everything appeared solid, but the front porch has started to rapidly decay.

The new Central Montessori School (that was announced last month) at 323 North 20th Street is having an open house this Saturday, September 22nd, at 2PM.

big ass tree falls on big ass house
The brief and intense weather that blew through this afternoon pushed over a very large tree onto 1201 North 20th Street, one of my favorite vacant houses in Fairmount.

2 shootings last night
A 37-year-old man was shot and wounded last night at about 7:15 p.m. in the 400 block of North 32nd Street. At least one person died in another shooting just after midnight near the area of 20th and P streets. Shots were fired into a white sedan that crashed between two apartment buildings in little Mosby.

An empty, for-sale house at 20th and R Streets burned dramatically last night.

house fire at Fairmount Avenue and 20th Street
A fire broke out at Fairmount Ave. and 20th St. and quickly spread to another house next door. It just after 4 PM Tuesday and within minutes thick plumes of smoke could be seen several miles away. At this time, there was no word on injuries or a cause for the fire. [via]
