Hello everyone –
There is still time to get involved in our one-and-only fundraiser and neighborhood event of 2020! We have extended the deadline to enter our first annual Holiday House Decorating Contest through December 12th – so please do join in the fun! Our select team of non-judgy judges will see all the houses December 13th, and the winners will be announced at our holiday happy hour via Zoom on December 15th. All neighbors and friends are welcome to join us – participants and spectators alike! A Zoom link will be provided before the event, or you can contact president@churchhill.org.
We also encourage you to go and see the Participating Homes! A map guide will be provided on our website on or before December 11th, and each home will be marked with a sign out front.
We have raised over $1,200 so far, and we have 23 participating houses! As you may know, we are donating 100% of the net proceeds from this event to two local organizations – ChildSavers and Neighborhood Resource Center. In addition to funds raised by the community, the Church Hill Association is also contributing $1,000 to the cause. Donations can be made at any time through the Church Hill Association website , or by mail to our neighborhood PO Box 8031, Richmond, VA 23223, or by dropping a check through the mailslot at 2711 E. Broad Street. Please include the words “Decorating Contest” in the memo.
Finally, if you find yourself making purchases on Amazon (perhaps as you’re doing your holiday shopping), please consider making purchases through Amazon Smile, and selecting “Church Hill Association of Rva Inc” as the beneficiary of your purchases. Amazon will donate 0.5% of every purchase value to the CHA when the purchase is made through Amazon Smile with the CHA as the beneficiary. These funds will go into our general fund to help provide grants to our community in 2021.
