Howdy neighbors! As seen in VPM’s article of the topic, Local non-profit Boys and Girls Club of Metro Richmond announced plans to transform the Eastlawn Shopping Center into the East End Youth Resource Center! Todd McFarlane, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Richmond, said the space will offer educational programs and activities for youth transitioning into adulthood, such as SAT and ACT test prep, as well as financial aid and career counseling. Right now, development is still in the design phase, but construction is planned to begin in the summer of 2020, with a goal of getting the center open in the spring of 2021.
The Boys and Girls Club of Metro Richmond is a non-profit organization with a mission to “empower young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to succeed in life.”
This non-profit has done amazing things for our youth, including working with Macy’s to receive $5,000 for an exclusive back-to-school shopping trip for them!
But that’s not all they’ve done, folks! Here’s more of their success stories!
For more about non-profits in the area, here’s another article I wrote a few weeks ago regarding ChildSavers!
That’s all for now!
