From Church Hill Crime Watch:

What is so bad about this is that the patrons were also robbed. I am sure some people will second guess visiting after that wondering if it will happen again. Or any restaurant.

I don’t know if it’s relevant, but about an hour or so prior to the robbery, I called 911 and reported two males beating up another male in the alleyway connecting 35th and 36th Streets. I wasn’t in a position to confidently describe any details beyond the number of people, their gender and general age group (young adult.) I mention this just in case any residents who live in the vicinity have security cams trained on the area.

I would have thought this would have grabbed more media attention and/or that the police would have released security footage by now? Odd

My husband was robbed last night, at gunpoint, near our home at N 26th and E Grace Streets while returning from a School Board meeting at Bellvue ES. Thankfully, he was not harmed but this is clearly another very frightening occurrence in our neighborhood. The police felt that his description of the criminal possibly matched one of the men involved in The Hill Cafe robbery a few weeks ago. Please be careful out there on our streets since these despicable criminals seem to be very active lately. Thank you City of Richmond Police Department for your prompt response.
