#TBT (1961) Armstrong High School National Honor Society Members

Last week I shared with you a cringe-worthy story about a doctor and a local Church Hill resident from 1953. This week I wanted to share this great photo that was captured of the National Honor Society Members, in 1961, from Armstrong High School.

I love, love, love being able to look back through the archives and find the things that John M. and our other contributors dug up about the neighborhood. I think it’s also cool for us to be able to share where the neighborhood came from, it’s roots, with the newer residents of these communities. New stuff and new people are great but we should work hard to preserve the things that make places like Church Hill so special. That includes the history, good and bad, and honoring the people that grew up here and still live here.

The group in this picture look like they’re going places and excited for the future. I certainly hope that they achieved all the dreams I’m sure they had at that age.
