#PeopleoftheHill: Percy Strickland

This week for #peopleofthehillwe are happy to bring you, @percystrickland. Percy was the founder of @chatrichmond (Church Hill Activities and Tutoring). Percy brought a group of teenagers from his home organization, AWAKE, in South Carolina to visit and serve our community.

What makes you happy on the hill, Percy?

What makes me happy has always been the people. There’s great people who love their community, and when we moved here in 2001 it was people on their front porches saying “Hey” and waving, and actually talking to each other. That’s the best part, the part that you miss when you don’t have it.

While here, the youth group served food, played games, and painted faces at the Chimborazo Elementary School annual end of the year cookout. We were happy to see Percy back in the neighborhood!
