If you’d like to know if someone has been jailed at the Richmond Justice center, now you can.
This new service allows the public to search an inmate’s last name, first name or ID number to verify if an individual is in custody. The system will provide information on an individual’s charges, booking date, bond requirement and next court date.(1)

This service has always been available. You can search inmates that are currently incarcerated in Richmond city jail, and all over the state on this site. I have used this site for years https://vadoc.virginia.gov/offenders/locator/index.aspx
Hi Will, I will confirm, but doing the same search on the two engines show vastly different results. The Department of Corrections search engine does seem to include the Richmond Justice Center inmates.
Priorities in Richmond are mind-boggling. The Mayor is running around raising taxes on one of the few success stories in Richmond-restaurants and pushing for monuments to be taken down. The Superintendent of RPS is hawking T-shirts to pay for changing a school’s name and worrying about bathroom beautification and now this….Good God people do your jobs…or don’t you understand what that is?
Hello Gustavo. Yes it does.if you know anyone that’s currently incarcerated at the Richmond justice center it will show up. I have been using that site for nine years .
Ok that’s cool. I’ll confirm and find out what the big difference is.
The only difference is that the site that I provided, you can look up any inmate that is currently incarcerated, anywhere in the state of Virginia-jails and prisons included. The site that you provided is only for the Richmond city jail. Unfortunately, I have alot of family members who have been in and out of jail and prisons,so we used that site to look up what prison they’re currently located.
@Will Thank you sir. I’ll update the post. I have reached out to the Sheriff’s office repeatedly yesterday and today and no answers so far. So I appreciate the correction!
Wow. What has happened to our culture. I remember when having family members in jail/prison was something shameful and not to be talked about; definitely not broadcast like a badge of honor.
I would like to know who’s at richmond city jail.
I would like to know if yall have two inmates: Donnell Wilson and rueben dunnon
You can click on the link in the article to access the inmate search tool and look for them.
The Richmond Justice Center holds both local inmates and state inmates so some inmates will appear in both the RJC and DOC search engines. However, the majority of inmates held at the RJC are not DOC inmates so they will only appear in the RJC search engine. You must have a DOC # to appear in the VADOC search engine.
Richmond city jail inmates can be found here https://theinmatesearch.org/Richmond_City_Jail_(RCJC)-inmate-locator/13475/
I am looking for a person by face. I don’t know his name. Now, that the publication “Gotcha” has folded, where do I look for Richmond mugshots?
@ChrisTea try googling mugshots RVA and you should get a variety of things. I found Henrico mugshots but not RVA but i didn’t look very far.
I have used this site for years Inmate Releases http://inmatereleases.org
