Who’s interested in taking the mantle for the Friends of Chimborazo Park?

From John Drew Clay, former Chair of Friends of Chimborazo Park:

I recently closed the Church Hill/Friends of Chimborazo Park chapter in my life and relocated to a different part of Richmond. I regret that this happened rather abruptly, as a good opportunity suddenly opened up and I took it.

After the move, I feel it is necessary for me to step down as Chair of Friends of Chimborazo Park. I encourage the neighborhood to hold a meeting in the near future to appoint new leadership to continue with our work to beautify and maintain this park.

Community involvement is particularly important, given the city’s plans to hold a symphony /music weekend in the park in the spring of 2016.

As for our movie equipment, it has been entrusted to the ENRICHMOND Foundation. Please contact ENRICHMOND to discuss its use.

Thanks for the wonderful decade the neighborhood of Church Hill/Chimborazo Park has given me.

I would like to thank John for all his efforts over the years. He has worked to hard to make Chimbo shine. Under his leadership, my kids have watched movies in the park – flowers and trees have been planted – and much more. Thanks John and best wishes in your new endeavors!
