The Richmond Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Thursday evening in Mosby Court.
RPD officers were patrolling the area at approximately 10:17 p.m., Thursday, May 7 when they heard gunfire nearby. At the same time multiple calls were placed by residents to 911, reporting gunfire.
Officers quickly found Ra’Keem Adkins, 22, of the 700 block of Mosby Street lying on the sidewalk of the 1900 block of Redd Street with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other males were also shot during the same incident and were admitted to an area hospital for treatment.
This is the 3rd homicide in the East End in 2015 and the 7th in Richmond. Last year at this time the city had seen 17 homicides.
