The Friends of Jefferson Park group is now on Facebook.

Friends of Jefferson Park is a group of citizen volunteers dedicated to the preservation and beautification of historic Jefferson Park.

The Friends of Jefferson Park (FOJP) is made up of citizen volunteers whose goal is to enhance the park, through citizen involvement. The Friends group holds regular clean-ups, plants trees and encourages responsible use of the park. The FOJP has a strong alliance with the Union Hill Civic Association and often collaborates on projects. The organization also maintains a close relationship with the City of Richmond Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities in their administration of the park.

There will be a Friends of Jefferson Park planning meeting this Thursday November 7, 2013 at 6 PM at 801 North 24th Street. Items of discussion will include the Mr. Smedley Statue, the Jefferson Park Fountain project, trees, park clean-ups, 2013 Holiday tree trimming, and planning for 2014. Light refreshments will be served. Please contact Bill Conkle at junkifunki@aol.com or 804-649-3764 if you have an interest in the FOJP.
