A car driving north this afternoon on the 700 block of North 32nd Street hit multiple parked cars, before smashing into a pickup truck and stopping. A man who was working on the truck was knocked under the truck. The driver of the first car then shot himself, and has been taken to the hospital.
Carter Johnson and Jake Burns at WTVR have more information:
Multiple witnesses on scene say they saw the driver of the gray vehicle get out and help the injured man out from under the truck along with several neighbors. They say he then went back to his car, pulled out a gun and shot himself in the head.

I live around the corner and popped over to see if there was anything we could do. I talked to the reporters who covered it as they were packing up… The man who was hit is going to be OK. He has a broken shoulder, but he’s stable and has been taken to MCV. The man who shot himself is in critical condition. Praying for them both. I can’t imagine the kind of desperation, anguish and shame one would have to feel to do that. Bless him.
