New Record Store in Shockoe Bottom: Grand Opening Party!

A new store is opening up in Shockoe Bottom “Small Friend Records and Books“!

When: Saturday April 21st from 11 AM to 7 PM
Where: 105 N 17th St

Celebrate Record Store Day AND the opening of Richmond’s newest record store!
While we don’t have any RSD exclusive releases this year (we didn’t know if we’d be open in time!), we’ve got plenty of other treats for you!

It is funny how things come back in style, like Vinyl Records. Audiophiles will swear that the uncompressed format sounds richer than CD or Digital. I know it did in the Disco nightclubs I visited, often 🙂 The downsides are the pops and scratches. I believe there are turntables made today that help filter those out but will also compromise the very sound quality you are trying to obtain with vinyl? I wonder if Reel-to-Reel will make a comback… hmmm…
