East End Culinary School receives support from Capital One!

In case you missed all of the construction happening at the end of 25th St the Reynolds Community College East End Culinary School is full steam ahead!  In support of this effort, Capital One has donated $100,000 to the school for this project.

Personally, we’re excited about the ambitious plans for this project and hope that it will develop into a cornerstone for the surrounding communities.

You can read the official press release via the Richmond Times-Dispatch HERE

We’ve had several stories covering this development.  You can learn more about it by clicking below:

It is always impressive to see the development of schools, particularly culinary schools which I am a fan of.

Going into debt as a city to rebuild a bigger Creighton court across the street is probably a really really bad idea, for everyone.

A semi-Non profit grocery store initially underwritten by wealthy individuals might or might not end up being a positive thing. I have cautious hopes.

Job training and a landmark (like it not you armchair fossil architects of Churchhill:) building seems exactly right on to me. Love it. Go J Sarge and Capitol 1!

If any of our civic leaders had the actual guts to support a methadone clinic so we could pull a few more of our neighbors out of that street life, that would be an amazing change. I’m looking at you, Dr Newbille, as well as Bon Secours itself. Y’all know what’s up in the neighborhood. Deal with it.

pretending it’s not happening really isn’t working.

@Debois2 – Great comment. I’ve got zero faith in Newbille, however.
