Power Outage on the Hill

Just a short while ago a large section of the Hill lost power. If you’re included make sure and report outages at Dominion Outage Center or call 866-366-4357.

Outage map shows that over 3k customers are affected and estimated restoration will be between 8a and Noon.

You can also follow Dominion on Twitter at @domenergyva

Update: Over 1800 folks are still without power. As some of you have reported, looks like a 2:00 to 6:00 P.M window. Remember, to drip your pipes! If they have frozen, check out this tip from John M.

Update: looks like it’s all good again. Careful with the brownouts, if your appliances are acting funny, turn off or unplug computers, phones, and other electronics to prevent damage caused by inadequate voltage.

If you know anyone on oxygen, might want to stop by and make sure their tanks are full. I hope the dialysis center didn’t lose power.

The number listed on the chpn page is a sex talk line. Dominion’s outage number is 866-366-4357.

When it went out this morning around 6a it woke me up. Decided to do a quick post from my phone, while still 1/2 asleep, and in bed after I talked to Dominion. I guess the QC part of my brain was still dreaming…. and apparently about sex talk lines. Hahaha.

Reminder: when a traffic light is completely out, treat it as a four-way stop.

Going on 5 hours and still no power. Sucks that this happened on the Sunday of MLK weekend. Sucks even worse that it’s freezing outside too. Stay warm everyone.

The website now reports it’ll be fixed between 2-6pm.

Is 12 hours enough time for pipes to freeze!?

Reply
Grant Martin 01/14/2018 at 11:58 AM

Dominion’s website blames an “equipment problem” and estimates power will be restored between 2 and 6.

Xfinity internet is down in Jefferson Park area. Our home wifi router works fine but the internet cable entering the residence that connects to our router has no signal. Not sure if it is related to no electricity. Presently using ATT phone as hotspot
