You are invited to attend a panel discussion examining the ways in which community residents, neighbors, and neighborhoods have shaped change in Richmond.

Panelists include…

Torey Edmonds Torey J Edmonds is a lifelong resident of Richmond, Virginia and a graduate of Richmond Public Schools. An example of her long roots in the East End community is the fact that Edmonds lives in the house to which she herself was brought home from the hospital as an infant. She has been a community activist for many years, including a run for the school board and acting as 7th district community liaison for the Mayor’s Roundtable.

William “Bill” Martin, Director of the Valentine, leads the oldest museum in Richmond and the only museum dedicated to collecting, preserving and interpreting the city’s diverse history. For 25 years, Martin has expanded the Valentine’s programming, grown Richmond walking and group tours, and worked collaboratively in the community to support city tourism initiatives and promote the social, cultural and educational importance of the 1.6 million objects in the Valentine’s collection.

John Moeser Emeritus Professor of Urban Studies and Planning at Virginia Commonwealth University where he taught for 34 years. During his last year at VCU, he was invited to become Senior Fellow at the Bonner Center for Civic Engagement at the University of Richmond.
