Special “Read for the Record” Story Time at the East End Branch Library

Join us tomorrow (November 7 at 10:30am) as Karen Wells from PBS Kids and the East End Branch’s Children’s Associate Heather Hobgood do a special live reading of Thank You, Omu. Children will also receive their own copy of the book as part of the event.

Read for the Record is spearheaded by Jumpstart, an organization that is focused on making sure that kids entering kindergarten are prepared to succeed. Sharing high-quality picture books with young children is at the core of their mission. Each year, Jumpstart selects a campaign book that fosters language and social-emotional development, honors the diversity in our world, has a strong narrative, and appeals to young children. That book is read across the country and around the world by adults and young readers on Read for the Record day.
