15 Years of CHPN

Today marks the 15th anniversary of the first story being published on Church Hill Peoples News.

You can find that original post here: https://chpn.net/2004/08/10/new-coffee-shop-open-on-jefferson/

We would like to give a huge, monumental, gigantic shout out to John Murden who worked for years to build this resource for the community. After taking over the mantle we’ve come to realize just how much time, effort, and love goes into a project like this.

Another special thank you to all of our readers, contributors, and this amazing community in the East End of Richmond. We couldn’t do it without you. Last, and certainly not least, thank you to my amazing partners Gustavo Silva, Vanessa Reyes, and Megan Rickman-Blackwood who do the work day in and day out. Who volunteer their time, energy, and passion to keep this project going.

Thank you again. We hope to be here in another 15 years and to work alongside each and every one of you. We want to maintain Church Hill and the East End as one of the best neighborhoods in the city. A fantastic place filled with diversity, community, and family. A place that is truly America that includes people of different beliefs, races, religions, sexual orientations, countries of origin, and economic status. A place for everyone.
