Please call animal control and post with them too. My dog was picked up by a well meaning person who never bothered to do so. We were lucky to get her back. Every owner of a lost dog contacts animal control.

Legally, you must call animal control when you find a pet. You don’t have to turn him over to them , but you must report. Logically, it is the most sure way to reunite lost pets with their owners.
