Chief Alfred Durham has named Officer Kenia Marte Santana as the Richmond Police Department’s new Hispanic liaison to serve the community. A Richmond native, Officer Marte Santana previously worked in patrol at Second Precinct where she developed strong relationships with the Latino community. “It is an honor for me to be able to work with my beloved community,” said Officer Marte Santana. “I want to continue to enhance the relationship between RPD officers and members of Hispanic community.” In her new role, Officer Marte Santana will continue to build community trust with the police through community crime prevention academies, community meetings, and safety seminars. She will also provide assistance with interpretations for officers and detectives during investigations.
