Can you help bring Miss Priss Tea to Church Hill?

Patricia from Miss Priss Tea wrote to us about space available in the area. We’ve reached out to a few folks, but now we ask you, neighbors, do you know of a venue for a place like this? If so, please let us know!

My name is Patricia Bradby and I have a small tea party catering company called Miss Priss Tea. We currently operate out of New Kent but I live in the city and would love to relocate my business to lie within the city limits. After working as the project manager of the RVA East End Festival for the last two years (thanks for your continued support of that event), Church Hill has a particularly special place in my heart. I am hoping to find an office space or an event space in or around Church Hill out of which I can run my business. Christine Greenberg from Urban Set Bride told me that she originally found her space through you all, so I thought it might be worth a shot to send over a note and see if you might know of any spaces that are currently (or soon to be) available.

I am looking for a spot around 1,500 square feet to use for an event space where I could host afternoon tea and also have an office for my business. The space would be decorated with antique furniture and made to feel like an elegant living room of sorts. If not an event space, than just a small office around 200 or 300 sq ft would be fine. Enough room for a desk, a couple chairs and some storage for my china. I’d love to find something by the end of the summer. If not, then by the end of the year. Union Hill is also an option.

Matt Jarreau, this would be perfect for the Jefferson/M Street project – if it were built! 🙂

There is retail space on 2 corners at the inspection of N 32nd and E Marshall. I know one is def still available. The other is in the process of renovation (next to the soon-to-be open Alefish).

I believe Better Housing Coalition coalition has some retail space coming available as part of their development on venable. There’s also a retail strip on Oakwood & P …. I’m the director of research for a CRE firm in town and also live in the neighborhood. I’m happy to run a search for you! ?

Statia, we plan to lease the little gas station for retail which would be perfect for something like Miss Priss Tea Co. but it will have to be built out to get it to code for food service. And for that we’ll have to raise some funds. So it’ll be a while. Patricia Bradby’s on our young professionals board so is probably up to speed! Thanks for thinking of us!

Linda Nickolas Coile – not that I expect you to know properties, however, this would be so cool for you!

Patricia Bradby not sure but I think the 2300 club is still empty. It’s in residential area so it may have zoning issues but otherwise it would be perfect. And possibly furnished.
