One of my personal favorite places to eat a good Mexican meal (also 100% gluten free) is Tio Pablo in Shockoe Bottom. We recently heard from Linda Lauby, the President, Outer Banks Press and self-described “Indentured Servant of Millie’s, LuLu’s, Tio Pablo and Cafe Clang” about this weekend’s Cinco de Mayo Street Festival with Tio Pablo offering some delicious goodies. Parking may be tight as they’re still working on the 17th Street Farmer’s Market, but it’ll be a nice day for a walk (or take a Lyft!). Food available outside will include: $3 Tacos — Tacos al Pastor (pork with pineapple), Tacos de Carne Asada (beef), Tacos de Chipotle Pollo (chipotle chicken), or Tacos de Legumbres (onions, asparagus, mushrooms & zucchini) $3 Elote (sweet corn on the cob spread with mayonnaise, then sprinkled with cotija cheese, salt and chili powder) $3 Mango on a stick with chili powder $3 Tortilla chips with pico de gallo Drinks available outside include: $3 beer / $6 craft beer $6 Eastciders orange, pineapple, or honey cider $6 tequila shots $6 margaritas (we’re still working on aguas frescas and sodas) DJ Ruddy Rivera will be playing.
