The RVA East End Festival is coming!

Check out this teaser from the RVA East End Fest:

Here’s some extra info:

What is it? The RVA East End Festival is an inclusive community celebration highlighting the diverse neighborhoods and unique quality of Richmond’s East End.
When is it? May 25th, 2018
Where is it? The 17th St Farmer’s Market

Which brings us to…really? The venue is a little surprising considering that, as a savvy neighbor commented, there seems like way more than 90 days worth of work to be done down there. We’ll do some more digging but events recently have been run by the parking lot behind the main street station.

I’m sad it’s not at Chimborazo Park again. I personally thought it was a great, open and beautiful location, that was accessible to any and all neighbors. Plus, putting out a blanket in the park on a nice day while the symphony is playing? Hard to match.

Being crammed down in Shockoe, with limited parking, makes it into a very different type of event. I’m sure people will go and love it, but it won’t be the same people, and will be a different experience.

Welcome to living in a city… There are so many solutions to a parking issue. Try going to D.C. some time.

There is no way the market space will be ready by May. I wouldn’t be surprised if they move this back to Chimborazo.

Why move the East End Festival out of the East End?

Heck no.

@Dana
Might I suggest moving to Short Pump or Southside.

You might. Go ahead.

Why us everyone assuming that this is the same as the music festival which included the symphony? I don’t see anything here that says it benefits music programs in the schools. Just says it benefits schools. And I agree, no way the so-called farmer’s market will be done by May – and just WHERE are the farmers supposed to go when it is done?!

Y’all don’t mind coming out to Peter Paul, I can lease out my yard cheap. Extra for setting up the kiddy pool ?????
