This man tried to rob the SunTrust

Suspect Sought in Attempted Church Hill Bank Robbery

Richmond Police detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the man in the photos and video (sent separately), who is a suspect in an attempted robbery that occurred on Tuesday in Church Hill.

Shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, officers responded to the Suntrust Bank at 2500 E. Broad St. for a report of an attempted robbery. The suspect approached the teller and said he needed to cash a check. He then passed a note to the bank teller demanding money. When the teller did not comply, he fled the scene empty-handed.

The suspect is described as a black male with a medium complexion, a dark beard, dark brown eyes and two moles on his left cheek. He is in his mid-30s to mid-40s with an average build. At the time he was wearing a black brim cap, a blue jean jacket, a green polo shirt, a black T-shirt and blue jean pants.

Bizarre. They have an air lock door system at that Suntrust that doesn’t allow for people to flee easily, how did he get exit the building??

I have a question. If I hand a person a note (with a smiley face) that also says, “Please give me $100” is that attempted robbery? I guess there was a threat on the note, otherwise, where’s the attempted robbery? (or maybe he forgot the “please” or the smiley face)

That’s an amazingly clear pic..usually so blurry. Thete should be no problem id’ing him if someone who knows him comes forward.
