Fatal shooting on Nine Mile Road

The RTD is reporting a fatal shooting this afternoon at 30th and Nine Mile.

This is the 2nd fatal shooting in the Creighton area in less than a week:Oyana T. Carlyle was killed in Creighton five days ago as part of a double shooting.

There have been 39 homicides and 10 other fatal incidents in Richmond so far in 2017. If a homicide, this will be the 11th in the East End this year – all but one of which have occurred in Mosby, Whitcomb, or the Creighton areas.

What does "10 other fatal incidents" mean?

Shootings classified as "death investigation" are the bulk of it. Also an "involuntary manslaughter" and 2 killed by police.

Thank you. That makes more sense now.

Did anyone else just hear more gun shots around 10 pm? We were walking our dogs right around 30th and e Leigh and they didn’t sound like they were that far away.

Richmond is heating up right before Christmas time. I’m sure Fairfield will be read about in the news and papers sooner or later

@9, right before Christmas time? You’re even earlier than the department stores this year! Shhh…

I heard the gunshots, too, when I was standing on my front porch. I live on E Grace St and though they were faint, I know the sound of gunfire when I hear it. I wish that all of these rivals from the different projects/neighborhoods would stop the senseless shootings and just have a rap-off. Put the anger and frustration in words, not killings.

We really need to close the courts. This is too much. I’m sorry for the people who live there and don’t cause trouble, but these areas are too much of a deadly threat to everyone else at this point. Time to go.
