Applications now open for 2017 Golden Hammer Awards

Got a great renovation, new construction, or placemaking project that deserves some kudos? Applications are now being accepted for the 2017 Golden Hammer Awards for projects completed since January 1, 2016.

The Golden Hammer Awards were started by the Alliance to Conserve Old Richmond Neighborhoods (ACORN) in 2000 to excellence in neighborhood revitalization projects throughout Greater Richmond. Better Housing Coalition ran the awards for a few years, and this year for the first time Historic Richmond and Storefront for Community Design (with support from the Better Housing Coalition) will be putting on the show.

The awards ceremony on Thursday, November 2 will feature the panel discussion titled The History, Development and Revitalization of Northside Streetcar Suburbs. Tickets will be available beginning Monday, September 4 for $20.
