CAR to consider rehabs on Venable and 29th, addition at Libby Hill

The agenda for the June 26 meeting of the Commission of Architectural Review has a slew of local projects:

  • 506 North 29th Street – Replace metal windows with vinyl windows and install vinyl siding.
  • 2015 Venable Street – Rehabilitate a single-family home and construct a rear addition.
  • 2313 – 2315 Carrington Street – Rehabilitate two attached single family homes and construct rear additions.
  • 2601 East Broad Street – Replace rear entry porch.
  • 517 North 29th Street – Replace rear porch, reinstall two rear doors.
  • 2303 Venable Street – Install an air compressor in the front yard.
  • 2415 Venable Street – Rehabilitate attached single-family home and enclose rear porch.
  • 101 North 29th Street – Construct rear addition on a single-family attached home.

And remember – got a question about working in one of the city’s Old and Historic neighborhood? ASK CAR!

Where can I go to find out if I can buy any of those empty houses? Thank you!

@Natalie – Not sure what you mean, exactly. These are all houses with owners that plan/want to renovate them and need Commission of Architectural Review approval. There’s no way to know if they plan to sell them, rent them, or live in the houses themselves. Maybe try contacting a realtor?

project Homes does intend to sell both 2013 and 2015 Venable St to owner occupants who do not exceed the 80% Average Median Income for Richmond. There is buyer assistance available for closing costs and down payment.

We should have these done around October this year and would love to start a conversation with anyone who has interest. Please email or call me at mattj@htrsi.com or 804-306-9019 for more information.
