Can you volunteer to count bicycles?

Can you volunteer to count bicycles? Help is needed at several locations in the East End.

From Max Hepp-Buchanan, Director of Bike Walk RVA:

It is officially #RVABikeMonth, which means there is something fun to do dang near every day for the next 31 days. But the critical opportunity to help out and advance the cause is the bi-annual Bicycle and Pedestrian Documentation Project, happening May 16 – 18.

Sign up to volunteer today.

I just need two hours of your time. Twice per year, we gather dedicated volunteers like you to manually count the number of people biking and walking on specific streets in Richmond between the hours of 5 and 7 PM. This helps us establish baseline data and track the growth of biking and walking over time as more bikeways and walkways are added to our streets. And with the 25 miles of bike lanes currently in the works, we’ve had to add 10 new locations this year!

That’s right. We have 30 locations we need to fill for 3 days straight. We’re talking 90 volunteers. Will you donate 2 hours of your time for this important project?
