I used to go to a creative nonfiction class in Venice, CA at a place called “Beyond Baroque.” The best stories were from the “seniors.” It was a pass-the-can donation. Once people get past the memoir idea and just tell the stories, it goes from good to great. I hope this catches on and the Robinson can expand their offerings to something like Beyond Baroque. There are a lot of creatives in the neighborhood that could help.

Is this an ongoing program?

@4 I don’ think so, at least not that location – but the Richmond Story House still exists, I believe. Try calling and/or emailing them at the ‘for more information’ listed in the bottom right of the announcement.

I hope this is a living history project that will record the memories of the older Church Hill residents. We need to preserve the institutional history of the neighborhood before we all pass on (yes, me too!)
