There is no other experience in RVA like a quiet visit to the East End/Evergreen Cemeteries.
The ongoing volunteer reclamation work is steadily bringing the monuments out of the forest, while preserving the wooded resting place of generations of black Richmonders.
Want to get involved? A special volunteer work day has been set for March 11.
Follow @friendsofeastend for an ongoing record of the work at East End Cemetery.
