Anderson, Dogu up for prestigious James Beard Awards

Karri Peifer at richmond.com has the details on our two local semifinalists for the 27th annual James Beard Foundation Awards:

Brittanny Anderson, chef and co-owner of Metzger Bar and Butchery (801 N. 23rd St.), was named a semifinalist for Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic (D.C., DE, MD, NJ, PA, VA).

Evrim Dogu, baker and co-owner of Sub Rosa Bakery (620 N. 25th St.), was named a semifinalist for Outstanding Baker.

Locally, Chef Lee Gregory of The Roosevelt received a nomination in 2013 / 2014 / 2015. Other previous nominees from Richmond include David Shannon of L’Opossum, Peter Chang of Peter Change, and Dale Reitzer of Acacia.
