Have you seen this cat?

From Leigh at Leigh.Heagney@vcuhealth.org:

Hi, my husband and I live over by 26th and Cedar. We happened to have one of our cats run out of the house last night, while we were letting our dogs out. She’s 4 years old and weighs about 12 lbs or so. If you happen to see her please let me know! Chances are she’ll run from anyone. We’re hoping to get her back in the house before the snow hits. Thanks!

Tsk!! You rotten thing, worrying your people on the eve of a snowstorm. I hope she’s meowing at the door when you come home tonight.

I have a humane trap you are welcome to borrow. Put some food and water out on one of your porches along with some bedding/clothing that have your cat’s scent or your scent. A cat bed, cat blanket or one of your blankets or towels, a sweater, something like that. Give all of your neighbors (and CH Animal Hospital) a paper notice with your kitty’s photo and contact information and ask them to check their crawl spaces, garages, outbuildings and under their porches. Go 2-4 blocks out from all sides of your house. Go out at night and walk around calling to her. You might want bring along a bag of treats that you can shake. Do this daily or AM & PM. Your voice may help keep her close by. Leave a lost report with Church Hill Animal Hospital and ask them to check their found reports. Post a lost report with Richmond Animal Control (you can do on their website). Call there daily to check their reports for found/stray cats. Also very important to actually go to the city shelter at 1600 Chamberlayne Ave. to look for your missing cat. Do the same for Henrico County Animal Control(we’re not far from the Henrico line. You can also post a missing report on the Richmond SPCA’s website and at http://www.petfinders.org. Best wishes on finding your cat. Email me if you want to borrow our trap. I can show you how to use it. cpandmg2@verizon.net

Thank you! We’re still searching. We might need to take you up on the humane trap Melissa. I’ll probably end up giving my husband you’re email so he can set something up with you

@6 YAY! Give her an extra hug, she didn’t have to hunker down in the snow.
