Janet M. Hall-Lane, assistant principal at Bellevue Elementary, and her husband, John C. Lane, former principal at Mosby Middle School, both died in an early morning house fire.
Family members say Janet was an assistant principal at Bellevue Elementary and has worked for Richmond Public Schools for over 30 years. Their family members also told us John had retired from the same school system, and the couple had three boys.

John Lane was also in the administration at East End Middle back in the late 70’s, Well before it became Franklin Military.
I am so deeply saddened for the loss of two outstanding administrators. Mrs. Hall was my daughter’s Assistant Principal from the 1st grade until she became a rising 6th grader last year. Mrs. Hall was such a beautiful, thoughtful, cheery soul who would always be seen encouraging her beloved students whom she seemed to know all of by name.. Always wearing her lovely smile. You will always be loved surely, deeply be missed.
So sorry to hear. She was a,really nice lady. My kids use to go to Bellvue. She will deeply missed.
