Join in the Third Annual ‘Thanks to RPD’…
This will be the third year for neighbors from Union Hill to say thanks to the cops at 1st Precinct with hot and cold food on New Year’s Eve.
Our first year, 2 of us timed an initial delivery of snack food, drinks, and hot pizza with the change in shift between day to evening; and a second delivery near midnight of more hot pizza at the shift change from evening to midnight.
On our second year additional people joined to help make deliveries and enough funds were donated to enable an increase in the amount of snack food and drinks…particularly pizza. And some of the residents stayed awhile to share food with the cops.
Deliveries at shift changes assures that every cop who will be in Union Hill and the rest of the area covered by 1st Precinct working for us on New Year’s Eve will be able to share what we deliver to say thanks.
If anyone is interested in joining in the event this New Year’s Eve, let one of us know whether your participation will be helping to deliver items, early or late purchasing napkins or cookies or chips or pizza or plates or dip or soft drinks for someone else to deliver or providing funds to purchase items
We hope that those who participated last year will do so again – and that other neighbors will join us for the first time.
