Why are you thanking John? He has nothinging to do with the annual yard sale.

For years, Chuck Wrenn has organized it, created the flyers, distributed the flyers, paid for advertising obtained permits and paid any city fees.

Beautiful! Thank you Chuck!

Jean, You are right. Chuck did start the yard sales some 25 or 30 years ago. It was one of many creative things he has done for Church Hill. Second only to High on the Hog. But Jean, for the past 8 or 9 years Chuck has had help orgainzing and funding this event. You and all of Church Hill need to know we  carry on with the yard sale because we have help.

Eight or nine years ago I began partenering with Chuck and together each year we organize this semi annual All Church Hill event. Sometimes it’s smash and sometimes…well it rains. But each year it gets bigger, better and more fun.
At that same time the Church Hill Association, recognizing what positive community spirit it fostered, agreed to fund the park permit, our ads in the Times Dispatch and advertising space in our newsletter. We post an ad on Craig’s list which is FREE. And finally we are so greatful to John Murden and CHPN when they include us on their site. Which they have done for years. The only expence Chuck and I have is our time and energy.

Your post gives us the opportunity to say a big “Thank You” to the Church Hill Association and CHPN for their continued help and support.
See you on the 29th.

This story is three years old, why is it being headlined now in 2019?
