Just after tickets went on sale for Longoven’s next dinner at Sub Rosa this Sunday comes word that the pop-up restaurant has been named one of America’s 50 Best New Restaurants by Bon Appetite:
Restaurants don’t open overnight. As a result, a lot of very talented chefs can be left itching for a stove to cook on while they search for the perfect venue, seek out investors, or trudge through red tape. Such is the case for Patrick Phelan, Megan Fitzroy Phelan, and Andrew Manning, who after close to two decades in the industry, moved to Manning’s hometown of Richmond, Virginia, to open a restaurant of their own. That hasn’t happened yet, but in the intervening months, they’ve hosted monthly pop-ups under the Longoven moniker at Sub Rosa Bakery.
