Umoja Community Strategy Series starts this week

Umoja: Richmond’s Community Strategy Series kicks off this Wednesday, July 13, at the Peter Paul Development Center:

Join us for the Umoja (which means unity) Richmond’s Community Strategy Series: a roundtable to obtain informtion, develop strategies, and create empowerment. Sessions will focus on ways to affect and demand changes in our communities and alleviate community violence.
The event series is free to the public & ALL ARE WELCOME!
Session information:

  • Session 1: (July 13th at 5:30 pm) ” A Look Within: Taking a Look at factors contributing to community violence”
  • Session 2: Saturday, July 30th 2-4:30 pm “The Sickness vs. the Symptoms: Identifying root causes of transgression within our community and discovering what will unify the community”.
  • Session 3: August 10th at 5:30 pm, “From Outcry to Action: Constructing actionable agenda to address community violence”. Lawmakers, Law Enforcement, Parenting Resources, and Community Leaders dialogue with citizens about necessary and immediate changes.
  • Session 4 : Saturday, August 27th 2 pm-4:30 pm “Becoming the Change: Identifying Strategies for Unifying Communities”
